
Nicholas Trotta is a Senior Attorney at Kahn Yuniver Law, where he focuses on commercial transactions and litigation. Recognized for his legal acumen and strategic counsel, Nicholas was promoted from Associate to Senior Attorney in January 2025. His practice includes business law, employment and labor matters, healthcare, real estate, and trusts and estates, enabling him to provide tailored, results-driven representation.
Nicholas has handled a wide range of high-stakes matters, including a multimillion-dollar wage- and-hour class action involving claims under the New York Labor Law, Living Wage Law, and the Wage Parity Act. On the transactional side, he has represented clients in real estate and business transactions ranging from $2.5 million to over $33 million, including the sale and purchase of businesses valued up to $1.7 million.
Prior to joining the firm, Nicholas practiced at boutique and mid-sized firms, developing a strong foundation in labor, employment, and commercial law. He also supported civic initiatives, including Eric Adams’ campaign, reflecting his ongoing engagement with community and public service.
Nicholas earned his B.S. in Legal Studies, summa cum laude, from St. John’s University, with a minor in International Studies. He is a member of several academic honor societies and the recipient of the Filippo Perfetti Book Prize for Italian. He earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he served as Peer Review Editor for the Family Court Review, completed over 250 hours of pro bono service, and was honored with the Bronze Public Service Award.
He is the author of a published legal article, “Like Bringing a Knife to a Gunfight: Why IRC Section 2036 Is Not the Right Weapon to Combat Abusive Family Limited Partnerships,” reflecting his commitment to thoughtful legal scholarship.
Nicholas has been named a 2025 New York Metro Rising Star by Super Lawyers and is a member of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his dedication to community, faith, and service.
